Hey Guys!
I love having freshly washed hair so choosing the right shampoo is very important in my hair care regime. Not only am I looking for an amazing scent but along with that a product that will deeply cleanse my hair and keep it looking as healthy as possible. The whole concept of cleansing and conditioning in one step appeals to me, as not only does this save more time in the mornings (hands up who loves their bed) but also draws me to the idea of using less products on my hair.
My hair type falls under the dry ends and greasy roots category and therefore finding a shampoo to tackle these problems can be difficult. On learning about L'Oreal's new Elvive Extraordinary Oil Low shampoo, which contains no sulphates and is a gentle cleanser, I knew I had to test this. I have always been an admirer of L'Oreal products and was excited to get my hands on a new revolutionary hair care product. I chose to try the gentle cleansing cream for dry and fragile hair as I am obsessed with oil hair care products.
My first impression was my attraction to the huge bottle with a pump dispenser. I was drawn to the packaging and love that it contains a generous amount of product (400ml). The design of the bottle feels luxurious and I am obsessed with the pump action rather than squeezing a bottle to get the last of the product out. After reading the instructions on the reverse I understood why the bottle needed to be so big as it requires you to pump between 10-15 pumps per wash. On first use this seemed a lot but after continued use this amount leaves your hair feeling soft, cleansed and detangled. I used the full 15 pumps and distributed this evenly through my hair from root to tips. I would recommend using this amount especially if your hair is extremely dry and coarse.
If you suffer from dry hair (mine currently feels more dry than usual due to colouring and the winter) then you know it needs an injection of moisture. This low shampoo gently cleans the fragile hair and removes impurities which makes perfect sense as you should be extremely careful with dry hair as it is brittle and can break easily. This shampoo detangles the hair and normally after washing, combing through my hair can be a horrible task but with this product my brush glides through smoothly. This product has no foam base (instead it is a balm texture) which was strange as I am used to shampoo's lathering on use so this was a new experience but after rinsing it felt amazing along with the gorgeous scent due to the 6 flower extracts. The product was easy to distribute through my hair and after leaving on for the instructed 3 minutes my hair felt soft to touch and nourished.
I love this product and have continued to use this in my hair care regime. It is recommended to use once or twice a week instead of your usual shampoo. I wash my hair every other day so I have now included this into my weekly schedule. This shampoo was £6.99 but currently you can pick this up at Boots for £5.00. There are also two other products in this range which are the L'Oreal Elvive Colour protect low shampoo and the L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Curl Nourishment Low Shampoo. I would highly recommend giving this product a go if you are to yet find a good shampoo.
Have you tried this product? What are your thoughts? What are your favourite shampoos?
